LOVE
When I think of February, the first thing that comes to my mind (other than my birthday haha) is love. Well, it really is the month for all of us to feel loved not only by our significant other, but also by our families and friends. Though we really should express how important they are to us everyday, February is the perfect month to take that extra mile to convey our feelings!

Korean
Before, the only thing I loved (and knew) about Korea was its TV series (Full House, Endless Love) and actors (Song Hye Kyo, Rain, and Lee Min Ho) but once you watch Korean dramas, it’s impossible not to get curious about their food e.g. kimchi and chap chae. Because I really want to have that “Korean” experience, I made sure to celebrate my 20th birthday on Korean Village...

What’s new? Well, I just turned eighteen twenty last Monday. It was just like an ordinary day - I was stuck in the lab doing thesis work. However, I’m thankful I have my friends and family who never forget to greet me and somehow make me feel special.
Laysa always does this kind of greeting. It’s so thoughtful of her, although I don’t know why she picked a photo...

I am supposed to watch The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo today but it was already 6:30 PM when we got out of the lab. If I watch at 7PM, I’ll get out of the movie theater at 9:40. There’s no way I’m going to stay up late tonight because I have a speech tomorrow (I was not called last meeting in Comm III!). I’m hoping I’d pick a nice topic. Last meeting, the light topics...

I'm an old loner who's afraid of needles.
I had a depressing day in the laboratory but I’m fine now. Had brunch in McDonald’s and then dinner at Paotsin alone. There’s something about eating alone that makes me feel calm and relaxed. If you are from UP Manila, I think it is a given that you’ve tried eating in Paotsin. They serve cheap but super delicious food. My favorite is “laksa” with dumplings.

The things I did today:
Woke up at 5 AM to get ready for school
Breakfast in school (rice + longganisa + egg)
Scanned my notes, took an exam at 8:30
Lunch at Chicken Charlie (I was quite disappointed because for the third time, after eating their chicken (with a lot of rice haha) I realize that it’s not really that good. I just love the smell, that’s all.)
Ate some potato chips

I love my Deka babes.
December 29, 2011 - It still amazes me how we manage to have this special get-together every year, every 29th of December. Galing talaga ng organizers. Haha! I cannot choose which of the five Christmas parties (yet) was the best because every year, there’s something new and different - the venue, activities, food, etc.
I don’t know why Giselle, Rome, and I always end up as organizers....

Segunda Mano
Spent the afternoon with Laysa and Erwin yesterday to watch a MMFF movie. We ended up watching Segunda Mano. It’s supposed to be a horror film but everyone’s laughing inside the movie theater. LOL
I still can’t believe how Laguna becomes more modern as time passes. Before, the nearest mall was in Alabang (outside the province, LOL), then Sta. Rosa and now, it is less than 20...

Bio Christmas Party
This was the last Christmas party for our batch as undergrad students. It was an unforgettable night because of my classmates aka the bullies who never get tired of making fun of everyone.
Barkada shot ♥
Reggie, thanks for the GC’s! :)
My bully monita, Venus
Hope you liked my gift!

Things to do before 2011 ends
Here I go again with my to-do list.
Party with my high school classmates. Since graduation (2008), we make sure to have our Christmas party every 29th of December.
Meet up with Laysa and Erwin. We are planning to watch a movie tomorrow. Erwin wants to watch “Enteng ng Ina Mo” (why?) or “Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow” (because of Lovi Poe’s sexiness, obviously). I...

There’s only a week left before the Christmas break. I only have 2 more exams and 1 book review to accomplish before I consider myself free. Well, not really since our thesis is not in a good position right now. HUHU. Anyway, here are the things to summarize this week:
Thesis lab work
UP College of Medicine application (fingers crossed!)
Angelo’s birthday (I’m here in Las...

I haven’t posted in weeks but this sem (which is the last for my undergrad life!) is going well so far. Though my partner and I still haven’t achieved good results with the thesis, I know we’ll eventually isolate higher concentrations of DNA! Haha!
Last Wednesday, I was in University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center (UERMMMC, that’s a lot of M!). I was...

Reasons why this is the best sembreak ever:
Yakimix with Laysa, Erwin, and Nepo
Enchanted Kingdom (especially the EKstreme Tower ride!) with high school friends
Supersale Bazaar with mami
Sleepover with girlfriends plus the BEST JOKES
Smooth enrollment
Thesis - We started the experiment proper already. How productive! :>
Gala with Giselle
Tetris Battle (This is a joke.)

Listening to Session Road, Paramita, Juana, and Mojofly makes me feel happy… and sad. Maybe it’s because their music is (1) just brilliant and (2) connected to some of the gloomy days and moments I had in life. Those are the days when OPM (Original Pilipino Music) was at its best (at least for me).

The Amusement Park
Last Saturday (October 29), I went to Enchanted Kingdom with some of my high school friends. I was so excited to finally try the EKstreme Tower ride! :) It was fun!
Here are some of the pictures from my camera…
We were waiting in line for Rialto. Even though I’ve been to EK a few times already, it was my first time in Rialto!
The saxophone player was so good! :)
Finally...

Flipped
I just watched Flipped again. This is definitely one of my favorite movies. I even bought the book (too bad, the one with the original cover was not available anymore) after the first time I’ve seen it, and I figured the two were very similar, even the lines in the movie were exactly how they were in the book!
It was my first time to take a screen cap from a movie, haha, I just can’t...

Yakimix
My friends and I went to Greenbelt 3 to finally see each other after one semester. I missed them so much, I forgot how fun they are to be with. We had dinner at Yakimix then killed time in Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. I love how we can talk about anything. I don’t want to sound very sentimental but I’m just so happy that even though we rarely see each other, it feels like nothing has...

Sem-ender
The past semester definitely ended with a blast. I am no party girl but I did enjoy dancing with the craziest people, especially Arden, Venus and Krystel! I’ll just let the pictures do the talking…
Photobooth: Some photos are over-exposed.
Pictures from Facebook. :P
Some people are different when they’re drunk. Arden transformed into someone I would love to see...

Still Alive
YAY I’m still alive! It has been 3 weeks since my last post, and finally I have something to share! HAHA The sem is almost over, one week to go! I still don’t have concrete plans on how I’m going to spend the sem break but I will definitely spend some time with high school friends, celebrate birthdays of special people, party with Biology schoolmates, and the list goes on!...

The end is near.
I guess the highlights of this semester are over. Harvey and I are done with the thesis proposal defense!
Our only picture for the day. Thanks, Paula! :) Eye bags galore!
Also, I am done with Bio 196 (well, almost) or the Undergraduate Seminar! :)
This is the poster I made. It’s so simple, thanks to the pretty woman in the photo. I just stole it through Google search. Haha. Bio 196 is...

Sad movies always make me cry.
I have been living here in Manila for more than 3 years now. Wow, typing it actually made me realize how long I’ve stayed in this busy city already. In a span of 3 years, I’ve only been to Mall of Asia for no more than 10 times. I’ve never been to the Manila Ocean Park. I’ve been to the Cultural Center of the Philippines and World Trade Center only once. Actually, I...

Colombiana
After an exam in NatSci 8 (Ethnobotany) today, Harvey and I watched Colombiana. :) It was so-so but Zoe Saldana is great! I’ve also been wanting to watch Zombadings and One Day. I think I’ll just download One Day and watch Zombadings in cinema. Let’s support the local film industry!
This movie is good but not as good as Salt (Angelina Jolie) and other action films I’ve...

Last week of August
My week in bullets:
We, seniors, won in the Biogyugan! Everyone was just so happy that we finally won! We exerted so much effort to finish a very good presentation! Watch the first part here! I was so proud that I remembered every step for my part! I was one of the flowers, by the way! :) I’ll post pictures next time because the official photographer Giselle has not finished uploading them...
